May 25, 1911, Menachem Shmulevich-Shmueli is the first person to be interred in the historic Kinneret Cemetery overlooking the Sea of Galilee (Kinneret). Over the years he would be joined by many Zionist luminaries of the second and third waves of immigration. One of these would be the poet Rachel, a major influence on the nascent Hebrew language. It would be fitting location for her burial both for the time she spent living and working there, and the influence of the location on the nature of her poetry. Her short but influential life is examined in Miss Bluwstein, Rachel.
