Arabic Movie


    17 October 1888 Thomas Edison filed a patent for his “Optical Phonograph” or as we know it today “The Motion Picture”. Like most of his inventions it changed the face of the world as we know it. Years later his invention would allow an interesting cross-cultural event as Israelis would sit down Friday afternoons to watch Egyptian movies. For some it was a link to a life they had left behind, for others a window into the “other” across the border. But for all it was a chance to share a moment, as Arabic Movie documents.
