17 September 1970 King Hussein ordered the Jordanian Army to oust Palestinian guerrillas from Jordan in what became known as Black September. Two years later one of the world’s most visible terror attacks took place during the Munich Olympics by a group named after the event. But not all terror attacks are so public, and even more so the aftermath, the family members left behind to deal with the trauma and loss, as in Footsteps in the Sand.
