October 22, 1948, the eponymous central story of Hebrew poet and children’s writer, Lea Goldberg’s, book “Flat for Rent” appears in the weekly children’s magazine “Mishmar L’yiladim” with drawings by Ruth Schloss. More than ten years later it would appear in book form, followed by another edition, adding two other stories, a decade after that.
