Nuremberg, October 16 1946. The execution of 10 of the major war criminals of the Nazi regime was carried out. Two of the defendants found guilty were not hanged at this time, Martin Bormann, convicted in abstentia, and Herman Goring who committed suicide the night before. Hitler’s bodyguard was not a part of these proceedings. 50 years later, he chose to tell his story to an Israeli film director.  His story is told first hand in The Last Witness.
