On May 4, 2008 South African swimmer Natalie Du Toit qualifies for the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, seven years after her left leg was amputated following a car accident. She will also compete in the Paralympics that year, making her, along with Polish table tennis player Natalia Partyka, among the select few to compete in both, let alone in the same year. The State of Israel will find its Olympic successes primarily in the Paralympics, in swimming as well. In Three Hundredths of a Second we follow the Israeli Paralympic swimming team at the 2000 Sydney games.
