May 1, 1927, sponsored by the World Union of Hebrew Youth in Paris, artist Moshe Castel has his first exhibit. Ze’ev Jabotinsky, in Paris at the time, meets with the young Jerusalemite and ends up writing the introduction to the catalog. Though he lived in Paris for 13 years, and had exhibits across Europe, the landscapes of Israel remain prominent in Castel’s paintings.
