Faith and Fate

On January 1, 1478, the Tribunal of the Holy Office of the Inquisition, better known as the Spanish Inquisition was established. Many Jews, known as “conversos” had converted to avoid persecution were secretly practicing Judaism, and the inquisition was partially to stop them from engaging in such. In the following centuries, Jews had to choose between continuing to hide their identity or risk expulsion or death. The movie Faith or Fate tracks the history of the Jewish people, between belief and destiny.
