    April 30, 1975. The fall of Saigon, which effectively ended the Vietnam war prompted the first large scale immigration of Vietnamese to the US. Because of the circumstances of their immigration, Vietnamese-Americans are one of the most assimilated immigrant groups in the US. When a newly arrived Israeli girl is the outsider, she becomes friends with a Vietnamese refugee in Foreign Letters.
