On 7th April 1956 Morocco gains independence from France. In subsequent decades the majority of its Jewish population would emigrate after thousands of years in the country. With such a long and rich history to draw from, Rabbi David Buzaglo became the greatest Hebrew liturgical poet of the twentieth century, providing a link between the ancient and the modern era as seen in A Song of Loves.
